The National Council has to develop coaching activities in the state and territories of Australia. The coaching activities comprises an educational curriculum and training program that will involve the development of members of the national and states squad. The training schedule includes advanced coaching levels, and additionally, the state coaching seminars are expected to impact the coaches and instructors at level 1.

The existence of the NCC allows the flow and sharing of information from the top national level to the state level and vice versa, this brings about prompt changes in practice across various clubs and levels. It also increases the optimal performance of the coaches both nationally and state and the quality of the training programs.

A further position the NCC holds in the coaching practices is to identify talents. The coaches at the national and state level coordinate programs in their states or regions that help in identifying talents that can be included in the training programs facilitated by the National Council. The program does not end at talent identification alone, it is expected to also increase the development of the athletes and further promote athletic activities within their region.
